I put this next to the toilet in my daughter's bathroom. She likes to listen to music while in the shower. Until the shelf arrived she would place her ipod on the back of the toilet. I was worried about it getting wet from the shower or falling into the toilet. I placed sea grass baskets on the shelves and now she has a nice little place to cradle her ipod and she uses the bottom shelve for books. Probably unlike most, I wish the shelf was a tad bit smaller. It fits in the designated area but just barely. A good find and I'd purchase it over again.

This was super easy to assemble but holy cow!!!! I couldn't believe how short it was!!! It needs another 2 ft. added to the top of it. I kept checking the box to see if there were more parts in it but noooooooo! I bought this for my brother's small bathroom but I'm not sure I'm going to keep it....might be sending it back. It looks nice but this would be great for a child's bathroom but someone who's tall? I don't think so. It's 48.75 tall....that's 4 ft.!!!! Yikes!

1. Each shelf is 13" wide and 9 1/2" deep. I have towels and candles in the big jars (which are heavy) on the shelves also. And a basket with toiletries, etc. Don't know the exact weight, but the shelves are very sturdy and strong. I think your jars of buttons will be fine

2. I wouldn't overload it, but if you anchor it to the wall, it can hold a fair amount of paper, which weighs a lot. I would, of course, as you would with a file cabinet, put the heaviest items on the bottom and get lighter as you go up.

3. I think it could hold jars of buttons, especially if you use the two anchor screws at the top
